In an interview with Radio Free Europe, former Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev commented that President Barack Obama deserved to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Gorbachev, who also received the prize, said: "I won it unexpectedly and he won it unexpectedly. America means a lot [to the world] and will continue to do so for a long time...
